A for Avocado - Aztecs called it 'ahuacatl' or testicle, an association which seems to have made the Spanish conquerors export the fruit as a sexual stimulant.

C for Champagne - The only wine for the bedroom. Remember Champagne and strawberries and Richard Gere in Pretty Woman

D for Dill - Romany gypsy herbal lore describes dill as the most potent of aphrodisiacs.

E for Egg - Known to provoke desire. On the flip side, they are symbolic of procreation. So could beam wrong signals!

G for Garlic - Raw, baked, whole or crushed, this is one ingredient used in numerous oriental love potions. Always use a good strong mouth freshener afterwards.

P for Peppers - Big, small, green, red… said to stimulate sexual appetite and hence in medieval India the principles of Brahmacharya forbade young brahmins from consuming hot peppers.

T for Tomato - When sprinkled with fresh basil is known to make things happen. Thus its name 'love apples'.

Y for Yarrow - A scented perennial herb used in love magic. If tickling your true love's nose with a Yarrow stem causes a nose bleed then he or she will always be faithful - a painful experiment but one with a reasonable probability of truth for unless one is truly in love, one wouldn't allow it
